ROYAL INDIAN RESTAURANT

At Royal Indian Restaurant we have attempted to recreate the ambiance, atmosphere and the flavors that make your visit so memorable. We hope your visit to Royal Indian Restaurant will give you a glimpse of India and its rich cultures.

Contrary to popular belief, Indian food is not and does not have to be spiced overly hot to be enjoyed. In fact, the art in Indian cookery lies in the delicacy of the spicing. In order to be able to satisfy all our patrons, we offer different levels of spicing for almost all of the items on this menu. (Mild, Medium, Hot or extra hot).

Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will be pleased to familiarize you with the various levels of spicing and also assist you in the selection of your dinner menu. Please do not hesitate to consult your server. With our courteous and attentive service we will endeavor to make your food experience at Royal Indian Restaurant a memorable one and hope that it will leave you with a desire to come back, again and again!

INDIA-History

The archaeological record in India (that is "Greater India" or the Indian subcontinent, encompassing the territory of the modern nations of the Republic of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan) shows first traces of Homo sapiens from ca. 34,000 years ago. Bronze Age civilization emerges contemporary to the civilizations of the Ancient Near East, from ca. 3300 BC, with the Indus Valley Civilization reaching its mature phase from around 2600 BC.
The Vedic period in the Early Iron Age saw the rise of major kingdoms known as the Mahajanapadas. The births of Mahavira and Buddha in ca. the 6th century BC still fall into the prehistoric period, and the historical era sets in gradually over the 5th to 3rd centuries BC, in which period the subcontinent was also first united under the Maurya Empire. Medieval India saw a series of conquests leading to renewed fragmentation into numerous kingdoms until renewed unification under the Mughals in the 17th century, replaced by British rule after 1858. India regained independence in 1947.
